Simplify
I am moving in just over two weeks and am determined to have a decent clear out before I go and get rid of a lot of the clutter I have gathered (even since the last move). So there will be trips to the charity shop and trips to the tip/recycling centre (many!).
I am a huge fan of camping - I love to go off to some scenic and quiet campsite and live the simple life in a tent. I especially savour that moment very early in the morning of crawling outside and boiling the kettle for that morning cuppa on my beloved camping stove, enjoying the peace and the view and being outdoors.
Hmm, so how is it that I love the simplicity of camping but at home I seem to have slight* 'cluttering' tendencies?
I picked up the classic 'Celebration of Discipline' by Richard Foster again yesterday and read through the chapters on simplicity - the outward life of simplicity leading from an inner attitude: "The inner reality is not a reality until there is an outward expression. To experience the liberating spirit of simplicity will affect how we live."
Well, I'm setting to work on my outward expression now so I expect I'll see how healthy the inner reality is so far!
*If my mum were reading this she may quibble with the word 'slight' here!

OK...I came hurrying over, lured by your comment at the preaching party that you are on the move...and what do I find? No info at all!
Very impressed that you are sorted so swiftly - we weren't allowed to even start looking before 1st July, - most Glos curates seem to be redeployed well into the 4th year, often after Easter...but I kind of envy you.
Also (being in major procrastination mode) dropped into your flickr pages and discovered that your another Docs wearer...I'm currently dithering between purple and burgundy for those occasions when my flowery ones are a Bit Too Much...but I love your red ones too.
Hiya Kathryn, hehe - sorry about that - I try and stay vaguely anonymous-ish round here so no big announcements! (Not that I say anything inappropriate - just a lot of inane ramble!). But if you'd like to know I could e-mail you. It's worked out quite well for us as TeenSon's due to start sixth form in September so it was much better than leaving half way through A'levels. It's all pretty exciting/daunting/exciting! So have you started looking yet then, having passed the July 1st deadline?
And you're another docs wearer - excellent, the Church of England should be safe in our hands (boots!) then haha... I had wanted to get some tarten ones but couldn't find any.
Hi Chelley,
good luck with the moving! I am really looking forward to moving when I come back from Germany, but not so much looking forward to having to pack up the last three years of my life. Will be good to have a "proper" home though, rather than being in a student residence!
Hi Ivonne, and good luck with yours too! Glad all the details got sorted out... Yes, the packing's a delightful prospect eh! All my boxes are arriving this morning from the removal company. Enjoy your new home when you get there. x
